Tetouan, one of the two major ports of Morocco on the Mediterranean Sea and located in northern Morocco, is a renowned multicultural center.
Since 1997, the medina is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, and since 2017 it has also been part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the area of Crafts and Folk Art.
An archaeological museum can be visited in Tetouan, alongside traditional and modern art museums; an archival library is also present.
The city hosts a music school and many artisan schools.
